Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. I took my toyota tacoma in to have catalytic converter replaced. Was pleased with how quickly the job was completed. Until the same problem happened again. Less than a year later my converter had to be replaced again. He said it was probably due to him buying cheap parts. And when the quote was exactly the same as last time, I went elsewhere. He quoted me $1156 for one converter. I asked him if there were 2 converters and he said,"I do not know"! The next place Exhaust works on Texas Avenue. Quoted me $800 to replace both converters. If you prefer to waste money, then by all means let Lee fix it!

Had an x-pipe installed by them and it kept cracking, I fixed it a total of three times the last time I took it in for them they didn’t even want to check underneath the car and said it was my exhaust manifold which it wasn’t. I do not recommend using their service.

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but this one is deserved. I brought my 2014 Volvo XC60 3.2 in and was charged $900.44 in parts for replacing four oxygen sensors (2 upstream, 2 downstream). I was told—after the fact—that the shop installed Denso sensors with a 1-year warranty. Here’s the issue: • Denso sensors typically run about $100–$170 each • A full set of four should be roughly $450–$550 total • I was charged $900+, which is Volvo OEM pricing • Volvo OEM sensors typically come with a longer warranty (often 2 years) • Yet I received aftermarket parts and only a 1-year warranty So let’s call this what it is: 👉 OEM pricing 👉 Aftermarket parts 👉 Shorter warranty That’s not a small markup—that’s a massive discrepancy. To make matters worse, none of this was clearly explained up front. There was no transparency about: • The actual brand being installed • The price difference between OEM vs aftermarket • Or why the pricing reflects something completely different than what was used At best, this is poor communication and inflated pricing. At worst, it feels like being charged for something I didn’t receive. For anyone considering this shop: ✔ Ask for exact part numbe

I can’t thank Bryan Muffler & Performance enough for saving my trip! Grok recommended this shop after my exhaust pipe snapped in two just south of St. Louis, leaving me with a loud, clunking ride to visit my parents in CS. I called for a quote, expecting a quick weld, but the staff was honest and said they needed to see my 2001 RAV4 in person. I appreciated their transparency. When I arrived, I waited only about 10 minutes before they started inspecting my car. The technician quickly determined the exhaust pipe was too rusted for a simple fix and needed a full replacement. He was friendly, professional, and got to work right away. The job took a little over an hour, and he even patched up my muffler for a small charge. Before finishing, he let me inspect his work and pointed out a couple of unrelated issues to keep an eye on in the future—no pressure to fix them now, just helpful advice. The bill was surprisingly affordable, much less than I braced for, and the quality was top-notch. My RAV4 was whisper-quiet on the drive back to Central Illinois, as smooth as a 2001 model can be. This shop is honest, fast, and skilled, and they’ve earned my highest recommendation. If you need ex
